B2B Expos (part of Memo Events Limited) is an events company that organises regional business expos across the UK. Our events provide opportunities for networking, learning, and business growth through exhibitor stands, seminars, and networking sessions.
We are looking for an Event & Media Partnerships Assistant to source, onboard, and manage event and media partners for our regional business expos. This role is ideal for a proactive, confident, and organised individual who thrives on building relationships, negotiating partnerships, and driving event awareness.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing partnerships with organisations such as Chambers of Commerce, FSB, local newspapers, radio stations, business networks, and industry associations to help promote our expos to their members and audiences. In return, our partners will receive exposure, free exhibitor stands and association with our growing business events.
This role requires strong communication skills (verbal, telephone, and email), relationship management, and business development experience. You will work closely with the team to enhance the visibility and impact of our events, ensuring successful partnerships that drive event attendance and exhibitor engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and Source New Partners: Research and approach potential partners, including business groups, local media, and networking organisations.
- Develop and Maintain Relationships: Build strong, ongoing relationships with event and media partners to maximise promotional opportunities.
- Negotiate and Secure Partnerships: Present partnership opportunities, negotiate terms, and finalise agreements that benefit both B2B Expos and the partner.
- Manage Partner Onboarding & Engagement: Ensure partners are fully onboarded, aware of their benefits, and actively involved in promoting events.
- Coordinate Partner Marketing Activities: Provide partners with marketing materials, event details, and promotional content for email, social media, and print marketing.
- Track & Report on Partnerships: Monitor partnership success, track engagement levels, and provide reports on the impact of partner promotions.
- Attend & Support at Events: Occasionally travel to expos to engage with partners, support on-site activities and strengthen relationships.
This role is extremely wide-ranging, and no two days will be the same.
You’ll also receive plenty of training from our team to ensure you can carry out your work to a high standard, so don’t worry if there are things mentioned that you don’t know how to do. If you’re the right person, with the right attitude – we can train you!

Key Criteria (Critical):
- Must be able to drive and have access to their own car
- Must be able to help attend, set-up and host events as part of our events team and be able to stay away from home an estimated 5-10 nights a year (travel/accommodation included)

- Previous experience using apps like LinkedIn, Canva, Zoom, Airtable or Zapier
- Previous experience updating CRM systems and databases
Interview Process:
All successful applicants will be invited for a 10-15 minute interview with Operations Manager, Gemma Brett. Following the meeting, you’ll then be invited to an informal face-to-face meeting with Gemma and the Director, potentially followed by a third and final interview with the team.
